FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) ABOUT FOURTH ROUND

You have to report to the allotted institute positively between July 16 to 19, 2010 irrespective of Option I, II and III submitted earlier.

I am not satisfied with the allotted seat after the third round. How can I participate in the fourth round, if I am an Option-I candidate?

Please report to the same admission center where you had reported earlier for provisional admission. You will have to submit a form to surrender the currently allotted seat. Your choices will be unlocked and you will be able to fill in choices again. Dates for surrendering seat at admission center are July 12 to 15, 2010 and dates for filling and locking choices are July 12 to 19, 2010.

If I surrender a seat, can I get it again?

After surrendering the seat, if you keep the same choice in your list of choices, you may or may not get it again depending on the modified choices of candidates ranked higher. You should fill the choices judiciously. You will be considered for seat allotment across the institutes based on your modified choices.

What is the advantage to me in terms of getting the seat of my choice, if I surrender my present seat?

You will get the opportunity to fill in new choices of your liking and to modify the existing choices. This will make you eligible to participate in the next round to get any choice across the institutes.

I have not got any seat during the first three rounds. How can I participate in the fourth round?

Your choices will be automatically unlocked from July 12, 2010. You can modify your choices again and lock them before July 19, 2010, 5.00 PM

What is the basis of modifying choices for the fourth round?

You are advised to check the following data from CCB website and follow the process.

1)    While filling the choices you will be able to see all the choices of institute and branches. However, selection of choices should be made judiciously after your own assessment and liking so that you can get allotment as per your overall AIR standing. Number of vacancies is dynamic in nature and may increase based on surrendering, non-reporting and cancellations.

2)    The overall AIR at which the branch / institute of your interest was allotted in the third round i.e. closing AIR (Overall) in the respective category / quota.
-This will give you some idea about the possibility of your getting a seat if the allotted ranker cancels the seat (provided your rank is close to the presently allotted rank)

3)    To fill the sufficient number of choices based on your interest and liking with regard to institute and branch considering your overall AIR standing. If the candidate does not fill sufficient number of choices then there is a possibility that he/she may not get any seat. Thus, in their own interest, the candidate must fill sufficiently large number of choices.

What if I do not get any seat in the fourth round?

You can fill in fresh choices again after display of vacancy on CCB website. You will then participate in the fifth round.

Who can participate in the fifth round?

Those who haven’t got any seat till fourth round or those who surrendered a seat after the third round and did not get any seat in the fourth round.

What should I do if I am allotted a seat in the fourth round?

You have to report directly to the allotted institute from July 22 to 27, 2010.

Those candidates who surrendered allotted seat have to submit receipt letter and pay remaining fee. Those candidates who got a seat for the first time in Round 4 have to get documents verified and pay full fee of the allotted institute.

Submit choice of branches within the institute, if desired. Start attending classes immediately.

What if I am not satisfied with the seat allotment after the fourth round?

Upgradation across the institutes is not allowed after the third round. If you are satisfied with the institute but desire a change in the branch, you can participate in the internal sliding within the institute.

Alternatively, you may completely withdraw from CCB process before July 27. You have to report to the same admission center where the DDs were submitted. The Rs. 1000/- DD will be retained and the other draft will be returned to you.

If you have got an allotment for the first time after the fourth round and you are not satisfied with it, do not report to admission center. Your seat will be automatically cancelled.

What if I do not report to the allotted institute after seat allotment in the fourth round?

Your allotment will be cancelled and you will not be eligible for the fifth and subsequent rounds, if any.
